The Gathering is a Volunteer Collaborative Cooperative for Ages 0–18
The Gathering is a family-centered, volunteer collaborative cooperative designed to support children and students ages 0–18 through meaningful learning, community connection, and shared responsibility.
At its core, The Gathering exists because families choose to build something together—contributing time, talents, and heart to create a rich environment where children thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
How our Cooperative Model Works:
The Gathering operates through a shared-service model. Families participate not only as members, but as contributors, helping sustain the programs, events, and learning environments that serve our students.
-
Families commit to service hours as part of membership a total of 10 credit hours.
-
Volunteers support classrooms, events, operations, and community needs
-
Leadership provides structure, oversight, and continuity
-
Instructors guide learning, enrichment, and age-appropriate programming
This collaborative model allows us to keep offerings robust while remaining accessible to families.
Leadership & Instructor Stipends
While The Gathering is volunteer-driven, we recognize that consistent leadership and skilled instruction require reliability, preparation, and accountability.
To support this, stipends are provided to leadership and instructors to help cover:
-
Planning and curriculum preparation
-
Classroom leadership and instruction
-
Program coordination and oversight
-
Administrative and operational responsibilities
These stipends are not salaries, but support roles that require a higher level of commitment and responsibility, ensuring stability and excellence for our students and families.
Our Heart Behind the Model:
This structure allows us to:
-
Honor the time and expertise of those leading and teaching
-
Preserve a strong volunteer culture
-
Maintain affordable membership and program costs
-
Foster ownership, unity, and shared mission among families
Every role—whether serving, leading, teaching, or supporting—matters deeply.
What Families Can Expect
Families joining The Gathering can expect:
-
A nurturing, values-centered environment
-
Clear communication and transparency

A Shared Commitment:
By joining The Gathering, families are saying yes to partnership—investing in both their children and the community as a whole. Together, we create an environment where students are known, supported, and encouraged to grow.
We are honored to welcome your family and look forward to serving alongside you.
